We are a fully inclusive, mainstream Infant School, which strives to ensure that all pupils achieve their potential personally, socially, emotionally and academically in all areas of the curriculum (regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, sexual identity, physical ability or educational needs).
We keep families informed about their child's progress and development. Children are identified as having Special Educational Needs when their progress has slowed or stopped.
Teachers will plan individual or group interventions and adapt resources to enable improvement.
Once this occurs, we will work will families to create an Individual Learning Development Plan (ILDP) and one page pupil profiles which help support their development and accelerate progress.
Stages of SEND
- QFT (Quality First Teaching) – below age related expectation or slow progress after 1 term.
- Early Action - below age related expectation or little or no progress after 2 terms.
- SEN Support – continued development below age related expectation or little or no progress after 3 terms.
- EHC Plan – significant cause for concern
